Bollywood romantic comedy drama, Solva Saal, directed by Raj Khosla and written by Omkar Dogra was released in the year 1958. The movie starred Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman in lead roles while Bipin Gupta, Kammo, Sunder, Jagdev, Prabhu and Tun Tun also played significant characters in the film. The evergreen hit music of the movie was directed by the legendary well known music director Sachin Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Rahul Dev Burman, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starst with a young and handsome guy named Prannath Kashyap ( Dev Anand ), who is a master conman. He meets with a beautiful girl named Laaj ( Waheeda Rehman ) in a train and falls in love with her at first sight. However, he gets heartbroken when he revelas that Laaj has a boyfriend and with him she is planning to elope from his house. Laaj meets with her boyfriend but to her utter shock, he boyfriend steals her necklace and runs away from there. Pran tries to catch him but fails.

Pran then decides to help Laaj in finding her boyfriend so that she can get her necklace back. They starts their search but ends up arriving in a movie studio. In the process of locating the thief, Pran and Laaj comes closer to each other and laaj eventually falls in love with Pran. Finally they both manage to bring back the necklace from the thief but now the question is whther Laaj will return to her home or will go with Pran?
