Songs of Sooryavansham


Bollywood romantic action drama, Sooryavansham, directed by E. V. V. Satyanarayan and written by Aadesh Arjun was released on May 21, 1999. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan and Soundarya in lead roles while Rachana Banerjee, Anupam Kher, Kadar Khan, Mukesh Rishi, Jayasudha, Bindu, Rajesh Khattar, Neelima, Anandvardhan and Shivaji Satham also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by the hit music director Anu Malik while the songs were rendered by Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, Suchitra Krishnamurthi, Anuradha Paudwal and Jaspinder Narula.

Thakur Bhanu Pratap Singh ( Amitabh Bachchan ) is the head of Sooryavansh family and is treated as a god in the village he resides. He has three sons and the oungest one of them named Heera ( Amitabh Bachchan ) is considered as the black sheep of the family. Heera is the only illiterate son of Bhanu Pratap. Deshraj Thakur ( Mukesh Rishi ) hates Bhanu Pratap and his family. He always plan against Sooryavansh family. Heera ask his mother to get him married to Gauri ( Rachana Banerjee ) as he is in love with her since his childhood days.

Bhanu Pratap first get enraged with this proposal as Gauri is a well educated girl and Heera is an illitrate. But later he agrees for their marriage. Heera rescues a girl from get drowned in river and get shocked to learn that the girl is no other than Gauri herself. He learns that Gauri is not interested in getting married with him so he decides to refuse to marry her. His refusal to the marriage makes Bhanu Pratap more angry and he decide to not to talk to him again in his life.
