Bollywood fantasy thriller, Sultanat, written and directed by Mukul Anand and John Philip Dayton was released on March 11, 1996. The movie starred Sunny Deol and Sridevi in lead roles while Dharmendra, Juhi Chawla, Shakti Kapoor, Karan Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Dalip Tahil, Kagdeep, Tom Alter and Padma Khanna also played important roles in the film. The music of the film was given by music director combo Anand-Milind while teh songs were sung by Suresh Wadkar, Shabbir Kumar, Sadhana Sargam, Asha Bhonsle etc. The movie performed very badly at the box office.

The movie starts with Sultan ( Sunny Deol ), who is the only son of Razoulli Al-Jabber Al-Nasser ( Amrish Puri ) and Mrs. Al-Jabber Al-Nasser ( Padma Khanna ). Sultan is a brave warrior who knows every skill of fighting. Sultan meets with Sehzadi Yasmeen ( Sridevi ) and falls in love with her. Sultan proposes Sehzadi Yasmen but is negotiated by her. Sultan is then is arrested by Yasmeen’s troops. But Sultan not only manage to escapes from the prison but also abducts Sehzadi Yasmeen. Yasmeen get impressed by Sultan’s bravery and his deep love for her and falls in love with him.

Sultan gets the news that his father is no more alive and his mother is also untraceable. Sultan finds out that General Khalid ( Dharmendra ) is the responsible person for his father’s death. Now Sultan seeks revenge from General Kahild. Sultan tries to abduct Khaild’s son Sameer ( Karan Kapoor ) and his beloved Zarina ( Juhi Chawla ) but all his efforts goes in vain. Khalid learns about Sultan’s bad intentions and decides to kill him but liitle does he knows is that Sultan is his own son. What will happen now?
