Bollywood romantic thriller, Sumbandh, directed by Shibu Mitra was released in the year 1982. The movie starred Vinod Mehra and Rati Agnihotri in lead roles while Ashok Kumar, David Abraham, Deven Verma, Tej Sapru, Sunder Taneja, Birbal, Aruna Iranbi and Preeti Ganguli also played important characters in the film. The music of the film was directed by the very famous music director Bappi lahiri while the songs were beautifully crooned by Bappi lahiri, Saron Prabhakar and Asha Bhonsle.

Kiran Mathur ( Rati Agnihotri ) is living a happy life alongwith her father, Hardayal Mathur ( Ashok Kumar ), who is an advocate by profession and her mother. Kiran gets involved in an argument with Professor Prakash Khanna. But the problem becomes even big when a student posts some intimate photographs of Kiran with Prakash on the college noticeboard. As a result of this, Prakash is thrown out of the college and Kiran also suffers from this as her engagement gets cancelled.

Then Kiran’s father, Hardayal goes to meet Prakash. He manage to agree him to get married to Kiran. Soon they both get married to each other. Prakash also gets a good job. But problems once again starts when Prakash is accused of having extramarital affair with his secretary. He is also found accused to killing Kiran’s fellow collegian Shakti Singh ( Tej Sapru ). What is the problem with Prakash? Why he always keep indulging in the wrong activities?
