The movie Superstar has been released on February 8, 2008 under the banner of Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd. This social movie has been directed by Rohit Jugraj. The important roles of the movie have been played by Kunal Khemu, Tulip Joshi, Aushima Sawhney, Reema Lagoo and Sharat Saxena while the supporting roles were enacted by Vrajesh Hirjee and Darshan Jariwala along with the special appearance of Sanjay Dutt. The music of the film has been directed by Shamir Tandon and Abhijit Vaghani and the songs of the movie were sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, Adnan Sami, Kunal Ganjawala, Hamza Faruqui, Rekha Bharadwaj, Shaan and Ustad Sultan Khan.

Superstar is a movie which displays how a person moulds himself when he is overtaken by his greeds to have more. The film is not flawless and lacks some execution by the director side. The movie also shows the hidden facts about our entertainment industry. The story of the movie revolves around Kunal ( Kunal Khemu ), the modern guy who was chasing his dreams of becoming an actor some day. His determination and attitude towards life makes him believe that his bad days are soon to get over.

Kunal found himself in deep when he got to know about his lookalike Karan ( Kunal Khemu ) who has already made it to the glamourous world of entertainment. The rich star became the reason for his shattered dreams. But Kunal was not aware of what was waiting for him. Being exactly identical to Karan, Kunal received the same respect and attention that was due for the star Karan. Kunal’s world transformed into something he had always wished. Now it was for Kunal to decide whether he should be Karan or his real self Kunal.
