Songs of Surkhiyaan


Surkhiyaan was a social and offbeat film that was released in the year of 1985. The movie was directed by Ashok Tyagi and produced by Anil Nagrath. The top roles in the movie were played by Naseruddin Shah, Suresh Oberoi, Moon Moon Sen and Kulbhushan Kharbanda while the supporting roles were played by Nandini Sen, Zohra, Arun Bakshi, Gulshan Grover, A.K. Hangal, Bharat Kapoor and Pinchoo Kapoor. The music of the film was directed by Vanraj Bhatia while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar.

Surkhiyaan was a movie combination of social and offbeat genres. The story of the movie revolved mostly around a man named Shera ( Suresh Oberoi ) who lived a poor life in Bombay with his father ( A.K. Hangal ) who is a retired school teacher. The interesting fact about him was that he loved his beautiful neighbor Sapna ( Moon Moon Sen ) very much and hoped to marry her one day. To make his dream come true, he was required to earn money and get rich quickly.

But earning money quickly and easily was not at all possible in Bombay so he decides to take up the line of criminal and started his gang with a famous gangster Jaggu ( Narendra Nath ). But the twist in the movie comes when one day he was arrested by the police and was tried in court. He was found guilty and was given imprisonment for several months. When he was released, he finds that Sapna has made a new friend in a lawyer Avinash Prakash ( Naseeruddin Shah ).
