Bollywood crime thriller, Tahqiqaat, directed by A. Jagannathan and written by K. Pushparajan was released in the year 1993. The movie starred Jeetendra, Aditya Pancholi and Sangeeta Bijlani inlead roles while Ronit Roy, Mahesh Anand, Danny Denzongpa, Mehmood, Laxmikant Berde, Asha Sharma, Satyendra Kapoor, Farheen and Sulabha Arya also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by none other than the well knwon music director Anu Malik while the songs were crooned by Kishore Kumar, Udit Narayan, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Prem Kumar and Arun Kumar ( Jeetendra ) are twins brothers and are living a middle class lifestyle in the city. Prem becomes a Catholic Priest and re locate to a village. On the otherhand, Arun becomes a Police Officer by profession. Years later, Prem is now a well respected Priest while Arun is now the Superintendent of Police. Prem goes to meet Arun and ask him to investigate about the suicide case of a young woman named Mary ( Farheen ). Prem believes that Mary was actually killed by someone.

Arun takes action and immediately suspends the Police Inspector who had Mary’s body buried without following regular procedure. Arun decides to go to the graveyard in order to have the body prepared for a postmortem. But he get shocked to see the dead body of Prem in the coffin. Now Arun decides to investigate about his brother’s death and also about the lady named Mary, whom his brother was highly concerned.
