Bollywood movie, Tamanna, directed by well known filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt was released in the year 1997. the movie starred Pooja Bhatt and Paresh Rawal in lead roles while Manoj Bajpai, Akshay Anand, Kamal Chopra, Sharad Kapoor, Kunika, Nadira, Kunal Khemu, Ashutosh Rana and Zohra Sehgal also played important roles in the movie. The music of the film was given by famous music director Anu Malik while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik etc. The movie did well at the box office and both Paresh Rawal and Pooja Bhatt was praised by audience for their superb act.

The movie starts with an eunuch, Tikku Ali Sayed ( Paresh Rawal ), who does the make-up job of the bollywood actresses. Her mother, Nazneen Begum ( Nadira ), who is a former bollywood actress passes away. When Tikku was returning from her funeral, he sees a child in a garbage bin. Emotional Tikku picks up the child, who is a girl actually. Tikku decides to keep the baby girl and names her Tamanna Ali Sayed ( Pooja Bhatt ). He performs hard work throughout his life for giving a better future to Tamanna. He sends her to school for her edcation. Tamanna returns to Tikku after completing her school.

But she get shocked when finds out that Tikku is in the guise of a hijra. Tikku learns that Tamanna is the daughter of a policticain named Ranveer Chopra ( Kamal Chopra ). Tikku tell this to Tamanna. Tamanna then decides to go to her father’s house. She meets with her father and his family and intriduce herself to them. But Ranveer refuse to accept her as his daughter and the whole abandon Tamanna. But Tamanna is determined to get her position in her father’s house and how she does it is the real story of the film.
