Tawaif was a romantic social drama released on March 22, 1985 under the banner of Sunrise Production. The movie was directed by B R Chopra and produced by R C Kumar and R S Kumar. The key roles in the movie were played by Rishi Kapoor, Ashok Kumar, Rati Agnihotri and Kader Khan while Poonam Dhillon, Deepak Parashar, Sushma Seth, Shashikala, Asrani and Shammi were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Ravi while the songs were sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Asha Bhosle.
