The drama Tera Mera Saath Rahen was released on November 16, 2001 under the banner of Ratan International. The movie was directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by N R Pachisia. The top roles in the movie were enacted by Ajay Devgan, Namrata Shirodkar, Sonali Bendre and Shivaji Satam while the supporting roles were played by Prem Chopra and Reema Lagoo. Music of the film was directed by Anand Raj Anand and the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Sukhwinder Singh, Atul Kale, Hariharan and Alka Yagnik.

The movie Tera Mera Saath Rahen was directed by Mahesh Manjrekar after the success of his films like Astitva, Vaastav and the failure of some like Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai. Thus for this movie he decided to choose his favorites Namrata Shirodkar, Sonali Bendre and debutant Dushyant Wagh. It is a social drama that revolves mostly around 14 year old Rahul ( Dushyant ) who is suffering from Cerebral Palsy. He lives in Mumbai with his elder brother Raj Dixit ( Ajay Devgan). Raj loves his younger brother like anything and tries to provide him with utmost care and love.

Raj lived in a chawl and had very helpful neighbours, the Chopras ( Shivaji Satam and Reema Lagu ) who had their daughter Suman ( Namrata Shirodkar ) and a son ( Sanjay ). They loved Raj and Rahul and always treated them as family members. Suman also loved Raj and dreamt to settle with him. But for Raj, his priority was his brother. Soon he comes across Madhuri ( Sonali Bendre ) who came from Delhi from a broken engagement. Both starting liking each other and she was also liked by Rahul.
