Traffic Signal was a social movie released on February 2, 2007 under the banners of Percept Picture Company and Bhandarkar Entertainment. The movie was directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. The lead roles in the film were played by Neetu Chandra, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kunal Khemu and Ranvir Shorey while significant roles were played by Manoj Joshi, Sudhir Mishra, Sameer Khan and Upyendra Limaye. The music of the film was directed by Raju Singh, Kailash and Shamir Tandon. The songs were sung by Bhupinder, Hariharan, Kunal Ganjawala, Vinod Rathod, Kailash Kher and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

The movie Traffic Signal is based on the story of a man who loves and cares most of the people and accidentally puts their lives in danger. He tries to take action soon enough before it’s late. The movie also showcases the lives of the poor people for whom the traffic signal is the other name for living. Silsila ( Kunal Khemu ) became homeless when he was just ten years old during a anti encroachment drive by Municipal Corporation of Mumbai. Rani ( Neetu Chandra ) came to Mumbai with a purpose of getting money and settling back in her village.

Dominic D’souza ( Ranvir Shorey ) was a software engineering dropout and had to work at odd time to earn a living. Dominic was brilliant at academics and also at sports and has won many awards for Hockey. Silsila is a manager of one of the signals in Mumbai. It was like a workplace and also a house for him. He had grown up there and the people working with him were like his family. He is full of morals and made a complete professional when it comes to work. Rani along with his sister Chutki sold traditional clothes at the signal and was unaware of the tax system.
