The social film Undertrial based on subject of crime was released on 26th Jan, 2007 and was bannered under Whispering Shadows Entertainment and P R Films. The movie was directed by Aziz Khan and produced by Nazim Rizvi. The lead roles were played by Rajpal Yadav, Kader Khan and Monica Castelino while Mukesh Tiwari, Prem Chopra and Pratima Kazmi also played the important roles. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik, Shamir Tandon and Surendra Sodhi and the songs were sung by Sudesh Bhosle, Anaida, Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik.

Undertrial is a story of crime, verdict, trial and punishment based on a real story that shook the world. It is a story of an undertrial prisoner, Sagar Hussain ( Rajpal Yadav ) stuck at the Central Jail. Sagar Hussain is a humble man who belonged to a middle family and came from a modest background. He is a married man married to Sameena ( Monica Castellino ) and have two daughters. But one day, he was shocked to know that he was accused with the charge of raping his daughters for as long as 8 years and also included the charge of plotting the murder of them.

The worst was still to come as he saw his own wife standing against him to make sure he gets the worst punishment. Soon he was hated by everyone, even the other criminals at the jail hated hm. Though his crime was not proved but everyone including the media, police and people around him believed the accusation levied on him. Sagar became much depressed following the hatred provided to him by others. The court was still to decide upon his innocence and guilt. Sameena was helped by Public Prosecutor P.P. Verma ( Prem Chopra ) to ensure that the worst punishment is given to him.
