Songs of Unns
The movie Unns was a social movie released on November 17, 2006 under the banners of Buneesha Films, P R Films and Koffee Break Pictures. The movie had been directed and produced by Bhupendra Gupta. The lead roles in the movie were enacted by Juhi Babbar, Raj Babbar, Sushant Singh and Sanjay Kapoor. The supporting roles were played by Rituparna Sengupta, Aman Verma and Sudhanshu Pandey. The music of the film has been directed by Sujeet Shetty.
The full name of the movie is Unns-Let There Be Love and the name of the movie suggests it is about the love involved in the bond of marriage. The movie also raises the long lasting knot of the individuals involved in the marriage. Rahul Malhotra ( Sanjay Kapoor ) is currently working in Mumbai and is married to a woman Ria Malhotra ( Rituparna Sengupta ) he promised to keep happy. But she didn’t love her as much as he did and one day she informed him that she is going to leave him as she was stuck between the choice of her husband and first love Rishi Rampal ( Sudanshu Pandde ). Rishi is an CEO of an advertising agency and loves Ria a lot.
Natasha Patel ( Juhi Babbar ) is a close friend of Ria and is the narrator of the story. She can observe the qualities of every person and was sad on Ria’s decision of leaving her husband. Sameer Shah ( Aman Verma ) is the fiancé of Natasha and an advocate by profession. He is also the best friend of Rishi and for him his work and profession held first place in his life. Unns is an Arabic word meaning love but in this film it were the deliberate efforts of Ria to have a fight that resulted in their broken marriage.
