Bollywood romantic family drama movie, Us Paar, directed by Basu Chattejee was released in the year 1974. The movie starred Vinod Mehra and Moushami Chatterjee in lead roles while Padma Khanna, Raja Paranjpe, Paintal, Jalal Agha, A. K. Hangal and Lalita Kumari also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by none other than the hit music director Sachin Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Young and handsome, Mohan ( Vinod Mehra ) is living seperate in city from his family for his completing education. He is in a college. His family consists of his grandfather, father and mother. But Mohan is not interested in studies at all and s actually a lazy slacker. His father asks him to retunr to village to stay with them but he refuses straightaway. He takes his camera and leaves the city. He come across a fair run by gypsies and decides to stay there for a while.

There he meets with a beautiful girl named Kamli ( Moushami Chatterjee ) and instantly falls in love with her. Kamli too get attracted towards him and they both starts meeting in secret. Mohan then proposes to her for marriage but get shocked to reveal that she is getting married to another guy named Bhairo. Mohan ask her to pack her bags so that they can escape from there. Kamli does so but get surprsied to the absence of Mohan at there meeting location.
