Veer Zaara is a touching love story of an Indian Pilot and a common Pakistani girl. The name of the movie is based on the name of the characters Veer Pratap Singh ( Shahrukh Khan ), Indian Pilot and Zaara Hayaat Khan ( Preity Zinta ), a Pakistani woman. Zaara’s mother ( Kirron Kher ) asks Veer to give back her daughter and move away from her life. Veer meets Zaara’s fiancé ( Manoj Bajpai ) on a railway station and he alleges him of some illegal activity. The movie also tells the story of a Pakistani lawyer Saamiya Siddiqui ( Rani Mukerji ) who tries to get Veer justice and unite the two lovers.
