The production of social movie Videsh - Heaven on Earth has been completed and is scheduled to release on March 27, 2009 under the banner of B R Films. The movie is being directed by Deepa Mehta and produced by Ravi Chopra and David Hamilton. The major roles in the movie are being played by Preity Zinta, Deepa Mehta, Vansh Bhardwaj and Yanna McIntosh while the roles of Gick Grewal and Geetika Sharma are also important. The music of the film is being directed by Mychael Danna.

The movie Videsh - Heaven on Earth is a social flick that revolves mostly around a young and vibrant girl named Chand ( Preity Zinta ). She has been recently married to Rocky ( Vansh Bhardwaj ) who lives in Brampton, Ontario and this is why she is required to leave Ludhiana her hometown. Rocky’s family is a very traditional family and was eagerly waiting for her arrival. She first met Rocky at the Arrivals level of Pearson Airport. Everything was new to her and she was thinking to start a new life.

But soon Chand started feeling isolated as the family she has inherited struggles beneath the weight of unspoken words. Rocky also felt the pressure but was helpless under the family pressure. A controlling mother, a father, and a sister whose two children and unemployed husband are also a burden on them lived with Rocky and Chand in a two-bedroom house in Toronto. The matters were worsened when Rocky was required to manage money to bring his family to Canada.
