Bollywood movie, Vijeta, directed by Govind Nihalani and written by Dilip Chitre was released in the year 1982. The movie starred Shashi Kapoor and Rekha in lead roles while Om Puri, Amrish Puri, Supriya pathak, Shafi Inamdar, Kunal Kapoor, Arvind Deshpande, Dina Pathak and Raja Bundela also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the music director Ajit Verman while the songs were rendered by Manna Dey, Parveen Sultana, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Angad ( Kunal Kapoor ), who is a confused teenager. He has no idea of what he wants to do in his wife or what he wants with his life. His one of the big problem is the marital rifts of his father Vinod ( Shashi Kapoor ) and his mother Neelima ( Rekha ). He decides to choose what he really wants to do in his life and decdies to become a fighter pilot. He si determined to join the Indian Air Force so that he can become a fighter pilot. Angad had adapted to the turban as his family had pledged their eldeest son to be of sikh religion.

He gets entry in the training of Indian Air Force but soon he gets afraid of flying. His instructor, Chief Instructor Verghese ( Amrish Puri ) wants him to stop fearing from the height. Angad gets attracted to a girl named Anna ( Supriya Pathak ), who is the daughter of none other than his instructor Verghese. Now Angad will have to cope up with his fear other wise he will never be a fighter pilot in his life.
