The hindi romantic comedy movie Wake Up Sid is going to release on October 2, 2009 under the banners of Dharma Productions and UTV Motion Pictures. The movie is being directed by debutant Ayaan Mukherjee and produced by Karan Johar. The important roles in the movie are being played by Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma while the roles of Mithun Chakraborthy, Supriya Pathak, Aarti Chabria, Anupam Kher, Sushant Singh and Urvashi Sharma are also important. Music of the film is directed by Shankar- Ehsaan-Loy while the songs of the movie are rendered by Shankar Mahadevan, Clinton Cerejo, Uday Benegal, Kavita seth and Amitabh Bhattacharya. The lyrics of the movie are penned by Javed Akhtar.

The movie is a story of a guy named Siddharth Mehra alias Sid ( Ranbir Kapoor ), who is a lazy slacker. He is a happy go lucky guy without any problems and responsibilities in his life. His best friends includes Rishi ( Namit Das ) and Laxmi ( Shikha Talsania ). He is in college but is merely interested in studies though. He takes his father’s ( Anupam Kher ) wealth for granted. His is not serious about his studies and likes to hang around with his friends. He is interested in doing all the other stuffs except studying.

He come across a very ambitious girl named Aisha Banerjee ( Konkana Sen Sharma ), who has just arrived in the city to fullfill all her dreams. Despite of being totally different in nature from Aisha, he befriends her. He helps her in setting up her life in the new city. Sid’s life gets upturned after he complete his final year college exams. He has no idea about his future. His life then undergoes a series of changes which in turn brings several changes in him.
