Bollywood action thriller flick, Wanted, directed by Ambrish Sangal was released in the year 1983. The movie starred Mithun Chkaraborthy and Tina Munim in lead roles while Shammi Kapoor, Asrani, Krishan Dhawan, Mazhar Khan, Deepti Naval, Om Shivpuri and Heena Kausar also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known music director Bappi Lahiri while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Aziz, Shabbir Kumar, Bappi Lahiri, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Vikram ( Mithun Chakraborthy ), who is a forest officer by profession. He is living a happy life alongwith his wife, Anegla ( Deepti Naval ). But his life gets upturned when a notorious dacait, Kehar Singh ( Om Shivpuri ) enters in his home in his absence and brutally muders Angela. Vikram decides to take revenge from Kehar Singh. But Kehra Singh plays a trick with him as a result of which Vikram is arrestyed by police in the charge of performing robbery, which was actually performed by Kehar Singh.

Vikram is released from jail after completing his sentence period. He is in search of Kehra Singh and for this he also takes the crime route. He meets with a beautiful girl named Neeta ( Tina Munim ) and falls in love with her. He also come across a stupid looking person, ( Shammi Kapoor ), who wants to assist Vikram in his criminal activities. However, later it is revealed that both Neeta and Shammi are not who they are pretending to be.
