Bollywood movie, Woh Saat Din, directed by Bapu was released on 23 June 1983. The movie starred Anil Kapoor and Padmini Kolhapore in lead roles while Naseeruddin Shah also played an important role in the film. The movie was distributed under the banner of S. K. Film Enterprises. The music of the film was given by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Shabbir Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Anuradha Paudwal. This was Anil Kapoor’s first film as a lead actor. The movie was the remake of K. Bhagyaraj’s Tamil movie Antha Ezhu Naatkal.

The movie starts with Maya ( Padmini Kolhapore ), who belongs to a poor family. She gets married to Dr. Anand ( Naseeruddin Shah ). But on the first night after their wedding, she tries to commit suicide. When Anand asks her about the reason. She tells him that she was in love with a guy named Prem. Prem’s ambition was to be a famous music director and to fulfill his dream he came to the city. He took a room on rent in Maya’s home. They both got fallen in love with each other.

But Maya’s parnet forcefully married her to Anand. After hearing her story, Anand decides to reunite Prem and Maya. He manage to find Prem and tells him about the situation. But Prem says that it is against Hindu culture to marry a girl who is already married to a person. He also convince PMaya, that she should accept the fact that she is married to Dr. Anand. After That Prem disappears from their life.
