Bollywood action thriller, Yaar Gaddar, directed by Umesh Mehra was released on November 4, 1994. The movie starred Mithun Chakraborthy, Saif Ali Khan and Somy Ali in lead roles while Shweta, Puneet Issar, Prem Chopra, Johnny Lever, Yunbus Parvez, Gulshan Grover and Anjana Mumtaz also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known music director Anu Malik while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Alka yagnik etc.

Shankar Verma ( Mithun Chakraborthy ) is an honest and brave police officer by profession. He is living a happy life alongwith his mother and a younger brother named Jai ( Saif Ali Khan ). Shankar is in love with a beautiful girl named Shashi ( Shweta) and wants to get married with her. But difficult circumstances forces them to get seperated from each other and also to forget about their love. Shankar get devastated with this but manage to control himself. However, he is still living with a broken heart.

His younger brother, Jai is a happy go lucky guy but always gets into trouble for no reason. Situation get worsen for him when Shankar arrest him in the charge of performing robbery in a bank. To make the problem even bigger for him, he is also charged of killing a person. Now what will happen to Jai? Whether Shankar will be able to save his younger brother?
