Bollywood movie, Yaarana, directed by Rakesh Kumar was released on 10 January 1981. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Amjad Khan and Neetu Singh in lead roles while Tanuja, Aruna Irani, Jeevan and Ranjeet also played important characters in the film. The superhit music of the movie was given by famous music director, Rajesh Roshan, and the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi. The movie went on to became one of the biggest hit of that year.

The movie starts with two close friends, Bishan ( Amjad Khan ) and Kishan ( Amitabh Bachchan ). Bishan belongs to a wealthy family while his best friend, Kishan, is poor. Bishan’s uncle ( Jeevan ) convinces his mother to move to Bombay for higher studies of Bishan. Bishan first refuses to this decision but later accepts it on Kishen’s saying. Years later, Bishan returns to his friend, Kishan and ask him to move to Bombay with him. Bishan finds out that Kishen has a very good voice and he can become a famous singer.

He brings him home and introduce him to his wife, Sheela ( Tanuja ), and son, Munna. Soon, Kishen becomes an overnight star after the success of his first show. But then only he realises that Bishen has lost everything for his training and to make him a star. he also finds out that bihsen’s uncle has also cheated him. Kishen decides to help his friend but only to find that Bishen is dead. Kishen loses his mental balance and he is send to mental hospital. But there he find that Bishen is still alive.
