Yalgaar was an action thriller released on October 23, 1992. The movie was directed and produced by Feroz Khan. The top roles in the movie were played by Feroz Khan, Manisha Koirala, Sanjay Dutt and Kabir Bedi while the supporting roles were played by Mukesh Khanna, Mohan Bhandari, Deepti Naval, Neena Gupta and Nagma. The music of the film was directed by Viju Shah and the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Channi Singh, Sapna Mukherjee and Kumar Sanu.

One can easily make out the theme of the movie from its title Yalgaar. The movie is an action thriller directed by the action director Feroz Khan who is also acting in the film. The story of the movie revolves around two childhood friends who happen to stand against each other after maturing. While one is an Additional Police Commissioner Mahendra Ashwini Kumar ( Mukesh Khanna ), the other is a crime lord, Raj Pratap Singhal ( Kabir Bedi ).

The twist in the story comes when the associates of Singhal killed the son of Mahendra. Rajesh ( Feroz Khan ), Mahendra’s other son and also a police officer pledges to take the revenge of his brother’s death. Mahendra’s son who has been killed has left behind his widow Kaushalya ( Neena Gupta ) and a daughter, Meghna ( Manisha Koirala ). The other turn in the story was when Meghna comes across Vicky Malhotra ( Vicky Arora ) and falls in love with him. Mahendra is promoted and then killed by another associate of Singhal.
