Songs of Yateem


The movie Yateem was an action cum social flick released in the year of 1989. The movie was directed by J P Dutta and produced by Bikram Singh. The important roles in the movie were played by Sunny Deol, Danny Denzongpa, Farha and Sujata Mehta while Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Amrish Puri, Dalip Tahil, Dharmendra and Dina Pathak were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Rajkumari and GM Durrani.

As the name of the movie suggests, the movie Yateem was an action film that raises the lives of people who are widowed. The story of the movie also revolves around a widower Inspector Shiv Kumar Yadav ( Kulbhushan Kharbanda ) who lives with his widowed mother and his daughter named Gauri ( Farha ). Shiv finds that one day the dacoit Ujagar Singh is coming to the Dargah of an Islamic Saint where he entraps the gangster and kills him.

The twist in the story was that after the death of the gangster, there was no one to look after his son as his mother was also dead. Shiv decides to adopt his son and bring up him as his own son. He names him Krishna. Shiv wanted him to be a police officer and for that he sends him to a training school. Years later, Krishna has grown up and is now a Police Officer, and returns home to the Yadav residence to find that Shiv has married a much younger woman, Chanchal ( Sujata Mehta ).
