Bollywood family drama, Yeh Gulistan Hamara, directed by Atma ram and written by Ranjan Bose was released in the year 1972. The movie starred Dev Anand and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles while Lalita Pawar, Pran, Raj Mehra, Ramesh Deo, Sujit Kumar, Jankidas, Asrani and D. K. Sapru also played important characters in the film. The melodious music ofthe movie was composed by the veteran music director Rahul Dev Burman and Sachin Dev Burman in collaboration whilethe songs were beautifully crooned by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Sushma Shrestha etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Vijay ( Dev Anand ), who is assigned the task of building a bridge that will connect China with india. But the problem is that the people living on both the sides do not want to help in this work. vijay somehow manage to convince the Indian villagers that the bridge will benefit all of them in a great way. But he fails to convince the chinese villagers as the region is actually ruled by a cruel emperor, Deng Do Rani ( Pran ), who does every work for his personal benefit only.

Deng Do Rani even sends his goons to resist the effort that is being made to build the bridge. Vijay falls in love with one of the female goon named Soo Reni ( Sharmila tagore ). Reni then decides to assist vijay in his work. Deng Do Rani then issues the command to kill Soo Reni at any cost. Also the people on the Indian sides also refuse to trust on her. But Vijay trusts her and decides to protect her from the goons as well.
