The romantic comedy Yeh Hai Jalwa was released on July 26, 2002. The movie was directed by David Dhawan and produced by Kanchan Ketan Desai. The main roles in the movie were played by Salman Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Amisha Patel and Rinke Khanna while supporting roles were played by Rati Agnihotri and Master Ajay Nagrath. The music of the film was directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the songs were sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Shaan and Alka Yagnik.

The movie Yeh Hai Jalwa produced by Ketan Manmohan Desai is the first film featuring Salman Khan and Amisha Patel together in the lead roles. The movie was directed by David Dhawan who is inspired by Manmohan Desai formula of film-making and thus Yeh Hai Jalwa is his second film under the banner, the first being Deewana Mastana. The movie is also Salman’s second release of the year after the movie Tumko Na Bhool Payenge. This is the movie most awaited by David since his last release Kyokii Main Jhuth Nahi Bolta.

The story of the movie revolves around a son Raj Saxena/Raj Mittal ( Salman Khan ) who goes in search to find his father. The twist in the story comes when he discovers that his father was alive whom he thought was dead. Infact he is one of the richest men in U.K. Rajesh Purushottam Mittal ( Rishi Kapoor ). Raj discoves that he is happily settled with his family that constitutes of his wife ( Rati Agnihotri ) and children ( Rinke Khanna and Master Ajay Nagrath ).
