The movie Yeshwant was an action drama released on February 17, 1997. The movie was directed by Anil Matto and was produced by Vijay K Ranglani. The top roles in the movie were played by Nana Patekar, Madhoo and Atul Agnihotiri. Some good roles were played by Shivaji Satam and Mohan Joshi. The music of the movie was by Anand Chitragupt and Milind Chitragupt and the singers were Kumar Sanu, Ravindra and Sadhana Sargam.

The story of the movie portrays Yeshwant ( Nana Patekar ) as a very diligent and honest police officer who hated crime and wanted to wipe off every criminal from the society. His wife Raagni Lohar ( Madhoo ) was an I.A.S and was the only person whom he lived for. Yeshwant was trapped in a case and was thus suspended from his job and was arrested. His appeal in high court saved him from the long sentence.

Yeshwant after his release hears news from people of his wife having an affair with her bodyguard, Inspector John ( Atul Agnihotiri ). This enrages him more. Though there was no such kind of relationship between them. He plans to kill John and also to tackle Raagni. In the end when he comes to know about the truth he regrets and requests his wife to forgive him. The movie has some good action.
