The crime movie Yuva was released on May 21, 2004 under the banner of Madras Talkies. The movie was directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by G Srinivasan. The actors in the significant roles were Ajay Devgan, Vivek Oberoi, Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor while the roles of Rani Mukherjee and Esha Deol were equally important. The music of the film was directed by A R Rahman and the songs were sung by Karthik, Mehboob Khan, Sunitha Sarathy, Lucky Ali and A R Rahman.

The director Mani Ratnam along with the production banner Madras Talkies is a big name in Bollywood and also for the Southern India. Some of his great works include movies like Bombay and Roja and now he is back with another Hindi movie after Dil Se. Yuva is his another thought influencing movie that deals with three young men and their perspective towards life. Lallan ( Abhishek Bachchan ) is a young guy brought up against the laws and he feels that his needs are more important than the ways to fulfill them. He also feels that he owes nothing to anybody but himself.

Michael ( Ajay Devgan ) is quite different from Lallan and represents a young and educated person of the society. He is PhD student and feels that the educated section of the society can only improve the world. Arjun ( Vivek Oberoi  ) is quite different from the other two guys and is more like a today’s modern guy who just want to look after himself. He had also never worked hard to get what he desired in life. Their life changes when they all got together in an accident that happened on the Second Hoogly Bridge.
