Bollywood action drama, Zameen Aasmaan, directed by A. Veerappan was released in the year 1972. The movie starred Sunil Dutt and Rekha in lead roles while Yogeeta Bali, Ashok Kumar, Sharad, Ramesh Deo, Indrani Mukherjee, Achala Sachdev and Dulari also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by the well known singer cum music director Kishore Kumar while the songs were beautifully crooned by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Shanti Swaroop ( Ashok Kumar ), who lives alongwith his wife, Urmila ( Indrani Mukherjee ), Son, Ravi ( Sunil Dutt ) and daughter Roopa ( Yogeeta Bali ). He remarries after the death of his wife to a woman named Maya, who looks alike his wife. Maya is having an affair with a guy named Heera ( Ramesh Deo ) but she manage to keep it a secret from Shanti Swaroop. Shanti looses his eyesight in an accident which leaves him totally depedent on his wife and a nurse named Kalpana ( Rekha ).

Roopa falls in love with a poor guy named Ram ( Sharad ). But Shanti Swaroop refuse let her get married with Ram. Meanwhile Ravi reveals about the affair of Maya and Heera and tells this to his father. But to his shock, Shanti Swaroop disbeliefs him and ask him to leave the house immediately. Now Heera and Maya are free to meet each other and the only problem left for them is the nurse, Kalpana.
