The action movie Zameen was released on September 26, 2003. The movie was directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by N R Pachisia. The important roles were played by Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu, Abhishek Bachchan and Mukesh Tiwari while the roles of Pankaj Dheer and Amrita Arora were also significant. The music of the film was directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the songs were sung by Hema Sardesai, Shaan, Babul Supriyo, Shweta Shetty, K K and Alka Yagnik.

Zameen was a social movie that explores the crime incidents that occur in our country. It is based on the true story of December 1999 hijack of the Indian Airlines Airbus to Kandahar and the subsequent release of three militants in exchange for the passengers. The movie describes how the army and police united together to find a solution for the hijacked passengers. Col Ranvir Ranavat ( Ajay Devgan ) is a faithful and brave soldier who captured the mastermind of Al Tahir organization, Baba Zaheer ( Mukesh Tiwari ) who, according to him, was fighting for freedom of Kashmiris.

Six months later, during a small battle at the Indo-Pak border, four fierce terrorists were successful in infiltrating the Indian land. Officer Ranvir was appointed to find the information about them, their plans and motives. While in the Mumbai city, ACP Jai ( Abhishek Bachchan ) is keeping a watch on a gang which was supplying the illegal arms in the city. Both Ranvir and Jai decides to unite together and track and catch these terrorists. But terrorists were successful to hijack an aircraft and took it to the P.O.K. Now it was the officer’s duty to free the passengers without any loss.
