The romantic movie Zameer -The Fire Within was released on March 4, 2005 under the banner of Eklavaya Visions Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed by Kamal and produced by Nitin Raj. The important roles in the movie were enacted by Ajay Devgan, Mahima Choudhary, Amisha Patel and Shakti Kapoor while the presence of Alok Nath and Kulbhushan Kharbanda supported the film. Music of the film was directed by Nikhil-Vinay and the songs were sung by Anuradha Paudwal, Kumar Sanu, Shreya Ghosal, Babul Supriyo and Alka Yagnik.

The movie was the debut movie of the director Kamal and he was successful in carrying the movie in an effective manner. The movie revolves around Pooja ( Amisha Patel ) who is a naughty girl by nature but also good in her studies. She was the daughter of a rich father and enjoyed playing pranks on everyone with her friends. A new lecturer Suraj Chauhan ( Ajay Devgan ) comes to her college for six months’ time. He is a mature person and also bit serious by nature. His first meeting with Pooja was also interesting.

On the first meeting itself, Pooja starts loving him making him bit conscious. He tries to make her understand about it but the obsession over her was so great that she didn’t listen to him. When nothing worked for him, he deliberately introduced her to Supriya Maheshwari ( Mahima Chaudhary ) who is his love interest. She is a victim of destiny as she was a great Bharatnatyam dancer but is now a paralytic. But Suraj is hoping that with his love and care he will be able to make her all fine again. An obsession was still building inside Pooja.
