Bollywood family drama, Zara Si Zindagi, directed by K. Balakrishna was released in the year 1983. The movie starred Kamal Hassan and Anita Raj in lead roles while Karan Razdan, Mazhar Khan, Nilu Phule, Arun Bakshi, Sulochana Latkar and Shreeram Lagoo also played significant characters in the film. The melodiuous music of the film was composed by the veteran music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were crooned by K. J. Yesudas, S. P. Balasubramaniam, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starst with Rakesh Kumar Shashtri ( Kamal Haasan), who has just completed his graduation and looking for a decent job. He shares the room with two other unemployed guys named Arun ( Arun Bakshi ) and Amit ( Karan Razdan ). He meets with an actress named Kusum ( Anita Raj ), who is also having a tough time in her work. Rakesh falls in love with Kusum.Tough Kusum also likes him but the problem is his unemployement as she is also facing problems in her career.

Rakesh tries hard to get a job no matter a small one. But he fails to get any job. He seeks help from some of his old friends who works in good companies but they also show him their back. Hopeless, Rakesh decides to do his own business but for that also he needs a huge amount of money for investment. How Rakesh will fight against his unepmloyemnet and how he will get his lady love is the rest of the story.
