Bollywood romantic action thriller, Zinda Dil, directed by Sikander Khanna was released in the year 1975. The movie starred Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh in lead roles while Roopesh Kumar, Pran, Pinchoo kapoor, Raj Mehra, Zaheera and I. S. Johar also played significant characters in the film. The melodious hit music of the movie was composed by the veteran music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were beautifully crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Mahendra Kapoor, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Shailendra Singh.

The movie starts with two twin brothers, Arun Sharma and Kewal Sharma ( Rishi Kapoor ). They are living alongwith their physically disabled father, Major Hemraj Sharma ( Pran ). Hemraj pays special attention to Kewal and always prefer Kewal for everything. Hemraj always made Arun to sacrifice things for Kewal. He even ask Arun to give up his beloved, Rekha ( Zaheera ) to Kewal. Arun gets fed up of this and one day leaves the home leaving behind his father and Kewal waiting for him.

Arun then meets with a girl named Jyoti ( Neetu Singh ). Arun getsa job in a hotel and there he meets witha waiter who tells him that his mother is still alive. Arun get shocked to learn this fact. He decides to confront his father for hiding this secret from him and Kewal for so many years. What is the reason which forced Hemraj to keep this news a secret from his sons?
