The thriller movie Zinda was released on January 12, 2006 under the banner of White Feather Films. The movie was directed and produced by Sanjay Gupta. The lead roles were played by the actors Sanjay Dutt, Celina Jaitley, John Abraham and Mahesh Manjrekar while the roles of Lara Dutta and Raj Zutshi were also important. The music of the film was directed by Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani while the songs were sung by Shibani Kashyap, Vinod Rathod, Krishna and Kailash Kher.

Zinda was a thriller movie full of the elemens of crime, revenge and suspense produced by the director regarded as the king of crime. Sanjay Gupta has earlier produced the thriller movies like Kaante and Musafir but Zinda is a class apart. The story of the movie revolves mostly around a man named Balajeet Roy ( Sanjay Dutt ) who wished the same things that some other person would wish, a beautiful wife and a comfortable place to live in. He had a lovely wife Nisha ( Celina Jaitley ) and was happy living in Bagkok. It was a place that gave him everything he thought of.

Balajeet was glad to know that Nisha was soon going to be a mother. But he was not sure enough to see his son as there were a lot of strange incidents that were taking place in his life. Balajeet finds himself locked up in some strange place. It was a snall, dark and dirty room but he was neither kidnapped nor imprisoned. He was supposed to remain here for whole 14 years which made him feel like crazy. Balajeet, who can’t even think of being away from Nisha for a moment, had to remain there for about 14 years. But he didn’t give up and tried his full to regain his happy life that he used to live.
