SRK and Aamir were the original choice for London Dreams

Raj Kumar Santoshi was almost within an inch of getting the dream combination of Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan together in a movie. Had he gone ahead and sealed the deal the audiences would have for the first time seen the two icons sharing the screen space on the silver screen. However as fate would have it, it was not meant to be after all and maybe it was not time.

He approached both the actors with the script of the movie London Dreams that was at that point of time tentatively given the title of Rashque. Rashque is an Urdu word, which translated into jealousy that forms the backdrop of the movie. To just give you an idea how serious both the actors were and close to signing on just imagine that Santoshi even gave joint narration to both of them together so as to give them the feel of how big it was.

However, in their pursuit of perfect the two actors took so long that they never saw both of themselves in it together. The role was then passed on to actors like Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan. Eventually when Vipul Shah took the task of directing the movie he signed on Salman to play the role originally written for Aamir and Ajay Devgn was roped in to play the part of SRK.

This combination meant another casting coup of sorts as they were re united back again after giving the hit classic in the form of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam almost a decade ago. Vipul did not notice this fact until very recently when it was reported in the tabloids.
