He has been named the star of the century. She has a name synonymous with luxury. And now, both of them are coming together in an endorsement that has got everyone to sit up and take notice. Amitabh Bachchan has been signed on to do an advertisment for the globally known face of luxury on four wheels, Rolls Royce. From the looks of it, this star studded deal, with one from the Indian Film Industry and the other the brand name of the ultimate in luxury can be simply termed as ‘Superstar with Supercar’.

Reports claim that this is probably the most lucrative deal of the star till date. And the globally known face of Bollywood, Mr. Bachchan has already shot for the commercial wearing a branded stylish suit (what else?), and sporting a completely different look. Such is the secrecy around the commercial that each and everyone associated with it has been ordered to keep their lips sealed, or else be ready to face stringent action. We wonder if Big B is doing a James Bond in the commercial.

For those who don‘t remember, we would like to remind you that this is definitely not his first promotion for a product on four wheels. Amitabh Bachchan had endorsed the minivan from Maruti a few years back, which went by the name of Versa, and this was one of those rare appearances of the star with his son Abhishek Bachchan, who was a rising actor back then. The two six foot tall men, had done a commercial of Versa, which itself seemed nothing less than that tall itself.

Other big stars from Bollywood have done commercials for cars too, though not for as big a name as Rolls Royce. These include, Shah Rukh Khan who did advertisements for Hyundai Santro, and later it’s popular version Santro Zip, with the beauty Preity Zinta. The car still sells like hot cakes. Another big star Aamir Khan has been the brand ambasador for Toyota Innova, another leader in it’s market, very carefully tapping Aamir’s versatility in it’s tag line: ‘different roles, one car’. Saif Ali Khan too has been seen behind the wheels in Chevrolet Aveo, along with Rani Mukerjee. But who knew, that few months after being gifted a white Rolls Royce Phantom by Eklavya director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, in appreciation of his performance, megastar Amitabh Bachchan would be endorsing the magnificent beauty internationally!
