Taare Zameen Par at 53rd Annual Filmfare Awards
Most of the awards in 53rd Annual Filmfare Awards held on saturday night were collected by Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par. With Aamir’s first directional debut, child artist Darsheel Safary got nominated in the Best Actor category and ended with winning the Critics award as Best Actor.
Despite being acted in the movie, Aamir only managed to win the Best Director trophy in the award ceremony. The film too grabbed the best film award for it’s concept and presentation. Infact, Amol Gupte won the award for best storyline of the movie.
The actors who managed to win other awards were Shahrukh Khan ( Chak De India), Kareena Kapoor (Jab We Met), Tabu ( Cheeni kum). Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone bagged the Best Newcomer award ( Sanwariya) and Fresh Face of the year award ( Om Shanti Om) respectively.
Chak De India also bagged the Critics Award for best film. Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma also managed to get the best supporting actor male and female award for their roles in Life In A Metro. From singers it was Shaan (Sanwariya) and Shreya Ghosal (Guru), who won Best Playback Singer’s award.
