Adnan Sami is one of the few who can stand up and say they were the lucky ones to work alongside Michael Jackson. He was working on an album along with Janet and MJ but now due to his untimely demise he is uncertain what will happen to the album. Whatever is the fate of the album but it will not be the same without MJ says Adnan.

He went through a turbulent phase in the last few years of his life but the music is the thing that kept him going. Adnan recalls his own days when he was in huge trouble; music was the thing that provided solace to me. The reason he got a chance to work with Michael was due to Halima who is the wife of MJ’s brother Jermaine.

She lives in Chandigarh for some time and that is where she heard her music. When Adnan was in talk with the Jackson’s they were always open to any new ideas that were innovative. They had in fact done a research on the works of Adnan before contacting him for the album. He introduced Sarangi and the Tabla-Dholak into their music creating a nice fusion.

Until now, they have completed four songs of the album and Adnan has even sung one of the songs himself. Independent albums help you to express yourself in terms of what you like and I have always liked playback singing says Adnan. This is surely one of a kind collaboration between an Asian musician and American powerhouse performers.
