After spending nearly six decades in the industry, The Nightingale is still eager to go. Lata Mangeshkar is undoubtedly a legend and after nearly a gap of half a year, she is back to what she does best. She will once again start recording songs but for whom remains a mystery. Numerous artistes are just waiting for an opportunity to work with the legendary singer.

She was out of work recovering from a knee surgery she had to undergo some time back. She says that she will from now on will be extremely cautious with whom she works. She has been known to be very choosy but she has now made it appoint to be even more particular. She though will not be having any language barrier as she has sung in more languages than anyone else has.

She is open to singing in languages like Hindi, Bengali or Marathi but you have to convince her to sing them. She was recently honored by Radio Mirchi lifetime achievement award but due to the recovering knee, she was not able to attend the ceremony. The organizers though were kind enough to give her the award at her home.

Her first public appearance after the surgery will be at the Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar award. She says that this is the least she can do for her father. At these awards, all those artistes are given recognition who have contributed to the society. At this year’s awards, the brave soldiers of the 26/11 attack will also be honored. No one better to give away the awards her, it was she who gave the nation their most patriotic song Ae mere watan ke logon.
