Emraan Hasmi had made it clear that he will no longer be doing multi starrers after he was left disappointed with his role in the movie Chocolate. He says that he learned from his experience and now reds between the lines when a script is offered to him. His role in Chocolate was not given much attention and he remained on the sidelined.

Now after a huge gap he has signed on with Milan Luthria for the movie Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. Sharing the screen space with him in the movie will be Ajay Devgan. He was a bit skeptical before signing the movie as the movie was another underworld and gangster based movie. When such a movie is being made, there are always comparisons with movies like Satya and Company.

Ram Gopal Varma created a benchmark and now Emraan wanted to do something different. It was only when Milan clarified that the movie was not similar to those movies did he signed on. One thing other than this bothering was that Ajay Devgan was present in company along with Viveck Oberoi. Therefore, there are bound to comparisons with Viveck, which he wants to avoid.

The movie will be based on underworld gang wars that existed in the 70’s but nothing much has been revealed about the characters of Emraan and Ajay so far. This will only be the third multi starrer that Emraan will be part of in his career after doing movies like Footpath and Chocolate. Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor will be producing the movie, which will be released sometime next year.
