Amol Gupte has been the part of the industry for close to thirty years and he will be seen making his comeback on screen with the movie Kaminey. With so much experience on his back, he did not require much time to get back into the groove and in no time was he ready to face the camera. He last rose to prominence with the movie Taare Zameen Par.

He penned down the screenplay of the movie and was scheduled to direct the movie until the very last moment when Aamir Khan took the reins of direction in his own hands. Now he is back playing the baddie or the so-called kamina in the movie. In addition, he has no qualms when people refer to him in that way. During a promotional event for the movie, there was a contest for finding out who the biggest kamina was and in that also he came out on the top.

The word Kaminey itself is associated with a mean and rogue kind of person and Amol himself confesses that he is very similar to his character in the movie. His failures in life made him come face to face with his mean side. In the movie, he will turn into a corrupt politician starting form a minor gangster. He plays the elder brother of Priyanka Chopra in the movie.

In the movie, he was also impressed by the dedication of Shahid Kapur and Priyanka. What impressed him the most the fact that they used to hang around after the shots and talk with the crew unlike other stars who would go back to their vans after finishing the shot.
