Aziz Mirza’s romantic film Chalte Chalte starred Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee in it. The other cators who did significant roles in the film are Satish Shah, Jas Arora, Lillete Dubey and Jhonny Lever. The music of the film was given by duo Jatin Lalit. This was the third film produced by Shahrukh Khan’s company, Dreamz Unlimited after producing two flop films in the form of Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Asoka in past.

The story of the movie was based on the love and then married life of Raj Mathur ( Shahrukh Khan ) and Priya Chopra ( Rani Mukherjee ). Priya is a fashion designer while Raj is the owner of a small transport company. Priya, who was already engaged to her childhood friend Jas Arora, decides to marry Raj instead. But very soon she realizes that love is not the only requirement for marriage. Raj and Priya starts to fight regularly on small issues. Raj infact blames her for having an affair with her x-fiance. They decides to get seperated but that also never works for them. In the end they realizes that to lead a happy marriage life both husband and wife need to love as well as trust each other.

Aishwarya Rai was the first choice of the director Aziz Mirza for portraying the role of priya in the film. But due to the problems created by Aish’s boyfriend Salman Khan on the sets of the film, King Khan asked director to drop Aish from the film and sign Rani Mukherjee.
