Dushman, directed by Tanuja Chandra, was released on May 29, 1998. The movie starred Sanjay Dutt and Kajol in the lead roles. Ashutosh rana played the negative role of a rapist in the film. The music of the movie was given by Aadesh Shrivastava. And the movie was produced by former bollywood actress Pooja Bhatt, daughter of ace filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. The film was inspired by hollywood hit Eye for an Eye.

The movie starta with two twins sister, Sonia and Naina Sehgal ( Kajol ). The two are completely different personalities from each other as Sonia is a bold girl while Naina is a shy one. A man Gokul Pandit ( Ashutosh Rana ), who is a rapist and a cold-blooded muderer, selects Naina as his next target. But unfortunately he brutally rape and kills Sonia. Naina identifies Gokul as killer but her effort goes in vain as he managed to prove himself innocent in the court.

Now Gokul is after Naina. He wants to kill her at any cost. While running to save her life from the killer, Naina meets Suraj Singh Rathod ( Sanjay Dutt ), a retired and blind Major. Suraj helps her to become physically strong to fight and defeat her enemy. With the help of Suraj, Naina succeeds in taking revenge from Gokul.
