Jaan-E-Mann, directed by Shirish Kunder, was released on 20 October 2006. Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta played the lead roles in the movie while Anupam Kher and Aman verma also did significant roles in the movie. The music of the film was given by Anu Malik. Anupam Kher played the role of a dwarf in th film for the first time in his long career. Shahrukh Khan was first approached for playing the role of Agastya Rao in the movie but after his refusal film went into the kitty of Akshay Kumar.

The movie starts with Suhaan ( Salman Khan ) who receives a notice from his divorced wife Piya Goyal ( Preity Zinta ). Piya wants a sum of Rs. 50 lakh in return for the alimony which was not paid by Suhaan in past because of his poor financial condition. But then Agastya Rao ( Akshay Kumar ) enter in the scenerio as an angel for Suhaan. Agastya, who is not known to the fact that Suhaan is the person who was married to Piya, tells Suhaan about his love for Piya from his college days. Suhaan now plans to patch up Agastya and Piya together so that he will not need to pay the money to her. He also get succeed in his planning. But then a shocking truth emerges which completely changes the lives of these three persons.
