Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan starrer Kal Ho Naa Ho was released in the year 2003. The movie was directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by none other than Karan Johar. The film managed to gross over Rs 600 crore worldwide. Jaya Bachchan and Dara Singh also did significant roles in the film.

The story of the movie was based on Naina Catherine Kapoor ( Priety Zinta ) and her family. Saif Ali Khan played the role of Naina’s MBA classmate, who is handsome and always looking for one night stand. In this complex life Naina, suddenly enters Aman Mathur ( Shahrukh Khan ). Aman arrives in Naina’s neighbourhood and soon changes the style of her living with his own living funda ‘ Jitna muskurana hai muskurao kya pata kal ho naa ho’.

Naina falls for Aman, but when Aman finds out that Naina loves him, he tells her that he is already married to someone else. He then urges Rohit get engaged with Naina. Aman has told everyone that he is married to a girl named Priya. But in reality he loves Naina from the deep of his heart. But he does not want to ruin Naina’s life as he is suffering from a very big disease which can’t be cure.

However, bollywood bombshell Kareena Kapoor was the first choice of Karan Johar for playing the role of Naina. But due to some dates problem, she refused to become a part of the film. The film was also thought to have been inspired from bollywood classic Anand starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna. The movie received many awards and nominations.
