Bollywood movie Mohra, directed by Rajiv Rai,was released on July 1, 1994. The movie starred Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Raveena Tandon in lead roles while Naseeruddin Shah played the role of antagonist in the movie. Character artist Paresh Rawal won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award for his excellent comic performance in the movie. The hit music of the film was given by Viju Shah while the lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. Initially, late bollywood actress Divya Bharati was signed for the film but after her death role went into Raveena Tandon’s kitty.

The movie starts with the murder of four boys done by Vishal Agnihotri ( Sunil Shetty ), in order to take revenge of her sister’s rape and death. He is sentenced to imprisonment and passing the remaining days in prison. One day he saves Roma ( Raveena Tandon ), who is journalist, from being raped by some other prisoners of the jail. Roma then hears his story and decides to help free him.

Mr. Jindhal ( Naseeruddin Shah ), who is a well known public personality but actually a hidden drug peddler, try every possible way to free Vishal from prison. He then uses Vishal, for killing his competitors in the drug peddling, after taking him in confidence that this will work in the well being of the people and country. On the other hand Inspector Amar Saxena ( Akshay Kumar ) is unhappy about the release of Vishal. In the end both Amar and Vishal team up to take on deadly Jindhal. Naseeruddin Shah won the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his brilliant performance in the negative role.
