Anees Bazmi’s Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha was released on July 24, 1998. The movie starred Ajay Devgan and Kajol in the lead roles. The music of the film was given by Jatin Lalit. The movie did exceptionally well at box offcie and it’s music was also equally praised by the audience. After the success of this movie, Ajay and Kajol announced their love in public.

The movie starta with Sanjana ( Kajol ), who lives in France with her Uncle ( Harish Patel ). Her fiance Rahul ( Vijay Anand ) goes to India for a business trip. But Sanjan does not accompany him as she is scared of flying. One day Rahul call Sanjana and tell her about Nisha ( Kashmira Shah ) with whom he has fallen in love. He also intends not to come back to Paris and get married to Sanjana.

Sanjana decides to get Rahul back to Paris at any cost. She flies to India where she meets Shekhar ( Ajay Devgan ). Shekhar is actually a thief and has stolen a diamond necklace from Paris. Shekhar put some of his stolen diamonds into one of Sanjana’s bags. In the process of getting back his diamonds, Shekhar decides to help Sanjana in finding Rahul. But during this tour Shekhar falls in love with Sanjana. Rest is the same typical indian love story.
