Dharmesh Darshan’s directed, Raja Hindustani, was release on November 15, 1996. The movie starred Aamir Khan and Karishma Kapoor in the lead roles. Suresh Oberoi, Johnny Lever and Archana Puran Singh also played important role in the film. The music of the film was given by Nadeem-Shravan. The film became a huge box office hit and the soothing music of the film was also equally praised by the audience.

The movie was about the love story of a poor cab driver, Raja Hindustani ( Aamir Khan ) and a rich girl, Aarti ( Karishma Kapoor ). Movie starts with Aarti, who wants to go for a vacation to a small hill station named Palankhet, leaving behind her father, Mr. Sehgal ( Suresh Oberoi ) and her stepmother, Shalini ( Archana Puran Singh ). She meets with a cab driver, Raja Hindustani, there. After spending some time with each other during the trip, Raja and Aarti falls in love with each other.

They get married against the will of Mr. Sehgal. After some time, Mr. sehgal forgives his daughter and invite her alongwith her husband in a party organised at his home. But due to some misunderstanding created by Aarti’s stepmother, Raja’s jealous and short-tempered nature gets exploited in the party. what happens next is the most interesting part or phase of the film.
