Roop Kumar Rathod is a famous bollywood playback singer as well as a music director or composer. He is the son of the late Pandit Chaturbhuj Rathod. Rathod started his career as a playback singer with 1992 released Angaar. But he went unnoticed as none of the song of the film has created any sorts of impression on listeners. He was first noticed as a playback singer in Sanjay Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit starrer Raja.

After that he sang many hit songs in the films like Naajayaz, Border, Kareeb, Sarfarosh, Veer Zara etc. He was finally established as a leading playback singer in bollywood after crooning two hit tracks ‘Ae jaate hue lamhon zara tehro’ and ‘Sandese aate hain hamein tadpate hain’ from the movie Border. He also acted as composer in the films such as Zeher and Woh Tera Naam Tha.
