Suresh Wadkar was born on 1954 in Kolhapur, India. He started his career as a playback singer in bollywood in the year 1976. He began learing music at the age of just 10 from Pandit Jailal vasant. He got his first break in bollywood with the song ‘Seene mein jalan’ from the movie Gaman. Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar was so impressed by his voice that she rendered a duet with him for the movie Krodhi.

‘Megha re megha re‘ of Pyaasa Saawan is the best song rendered by him till date. The turning point of his career in bollywood was Rishi Kapoor starrer Prem Rog. He sang all the songs for Rishi in the film. Suresh Wadkar has sung for some of the most well-known composers in the Indian film industry inlcuding Laxmikant-Pyarelal, R.D.Burman. A.R. Rehman, Anu Malik etc. Apart from playback singing, he also played the role of a judge on the famous TV musical show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs. His last film in which he did playback singing was the Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee starrer Paheli.
